Overview

Do you love unspoilt nature and want to escape your hectic life and daily routine? Our boat tour of Alicudi and Filicudi is just the thing for you. Enjoy the sun and crystal-clear sea as you discover hidden corners of paradise only accessible by sea. And if you are lucky, you may spot some dolphins or sea turtles!

Departure from the port of Lipari Marina Corta at 09.20 am. The tour of the island will begin by skirting the Faraglioni of Lipari until reaching the Grotta del Bue Marino on the north-western side of the Filicudi Island. This is the largest cave on the Aeolian Islands, and its name derives from the monk seals that inhabited it in the past. During navigation, you will also spot the striking stacks of Montenassari, Giafante and La Canna, which have become an emblematic sign of this island. The Canna is a volcanic rock that stands out against the sea for over 70 metres, surrounded by transparent waters full of colourful fish. Arriving at the Port of Filicudi, you will land on the island to visit it on your own. The harbour area is the nerve centre of the island, where you can find small businesses.

What to see on Filicudi Island

  • The prehistoric village of Capo Graziano, whose findings testify to the presence on the island of a flourishing obsidian industry during the Neolithic period. Don’t let the trek to the top put you off; the view will repay all your efforts!
  • Museo Archeologico Eoliano (Aeolian Archaeological Museum), in the locality of Porto, where it is possible to find artefacts discovered in the excavations of the Neolithic village of Capo Graziano and findings from the wrecks all around the island.

In the early afternoon, you will depart for Alicudi, the westernmost island of the archipelago, which has remained untouched by mass tourism. Here you will enjoy the wilderness and tranquillity that characterise the island.

The tour of Alicudi and Filicudi will end with the return to the port of Lipari Marina Corta, scheduled for around 6 pm.

What to see on Alicudi Island

  • San Bartolo is located going up from the harbour at a height of about 330 metres, where you can breathe in fresh, clean air and enjoy a splendid view of the endless sea.
  • Contrada Tonna is a small cluster of rural houses representing authentic Aeolian architecture, with steps built with dry-stone walls.
