Discover the magic of the Aeolian Islands on a unique mini cruise that combines a stop on Vulcano Island with a scenic boat tour along the coasts of Panarea and Stromboli, ending with the unforgettable spectacle of Stromboli’s volcanic eruptions at sunset.
Departure is scheduled from the port of Milazzo at 11:00 a.m. The only island stop during the excursion is Vulcano, where you will have approximately two hours of free time to explore its extraordinary volcanic landscapes.
Take a walk to Vulcanello, a small peninsula created by ancient volcanic eruptions and connected to Vulcano by a natural isthmus. From here you can enjoy breathtaking views of the entire Aeolian archipelago and visit the fascinating Valley of the Monsters, where ancient lava flows have shaped remarkable rock formations.
If you enjoy hiking, you can climb to the Gran Cratere di Vulcano (access is subject to authorization by the local authorities). The trail takes about 45 minutes and rewards you with spectacular panoramic views over the Aeolian Islands.
Among the island’s highlights are:
Hot Water Bay, famous for its underwater fumaroles that create a natural whirlpool effect;
Black Sand Beach, with its fine volcanic sand and crystal-clear waters;
the scenic trail leading to the crater, surrounded by volcanic landscapes and Mediterranean vegetation.
After leaving Vulcano, the cruise continues towards Panarea, which will be admired exclusively from the sea. While sailing along its coastline, you will enjoy spectacular views of Cala Junco Bay, the islets of Dattilo, Bottaro, and Lisca Bianca, renowned for their crystal-clear waters and underwater volcanic vents.
The journey then continues towards Stromboli. Please note that no landing is scheduled on either Panarea or Stromboli. From the boat you will admire the picturesque village of Stromboli, its volcanic coastline, and Strombolicchio, the oldest volcano of the Aeolian archipelago, crowned by its historic lighthouse.
The highlight of the excursion comes at sunset, when the boat stops in front of the famous Sciara del Fuoco for approximately 30–40 minutes. From this privileged position at sea, you will witness the extraordinary eruptions of Stromboli as glowing lava and incandescent explosions illuminate the volcano’s slope before flowing towards the sea, creating an unforgettable natural spectacle.
This excursion is perfect for those who wish to experience the beauty of the Aeolian Islands from a unique perspective: enjoying free time on Vulcano, admiring Panarea and Stromboli from the sea, and ending the day with one of the most spectacular volcanic shows in the Mediterranean.
WARNING: All stopovers are subject to any bylaws issued by the municipality of Lipari in force at the time of the trip and the captain’s decisions based on weather and sea conditions. Departure times may be subject to change.
