Taormina is one of the most famous tourist resorts in Sicily. Thanks to its position on the sea and the vast artistic heritage that distinguishes it, it attracts millions of tourists from all over the world every year. Characteristic for its medieval appearance, it is located 200 meters above sea level facing Etna. Walking along Corso Umberto and its characteristic alleys, you will discover a timeless city, symbol of Sicilianity in the world.
Free time for shopping will be given here.
During your stay, we recommend visiting the Greek Roman Theater, the most important monument in the city, it is a place rich in history and stage for the numerous events that it hosts every year, including the famous Taormina Film Fest, the Villa Comunale, entitled to the Duke of Cesarò. It was originally a private park, built by Lady Florence Trevelyan Cacciola, a noblewoman who lived in Taormina in 1884.
We also point out the Duomo, a 1400 building, which offers evidence of various renovations over the centuries. In the square in front there is the seventeenth-century fountain topped by the coat of arms of the city and Corso Umberto, the main street that crosses the entire town from Porta Catania to Porta Messina. Here there are various fashion shops, souvenirs and typical products.
