Ginostra – Stromboli by Night

Enjoy a sunset boat tour of Ginostra and Stromboli by night for a unique experience.

Departure from Santa Marina di Salina at 5 p.m. in the direction of Stromboli. First, you will stop at Ginostra, a picturesque village isolated from the rest of the island and accessible only by sea. The boat will stop at the small harbour of Ginostra for about two hours, allowing you to visit the village by yourself and at your leisure. Stroll through this beautiful village’s narrow streets and mule tracks where time seems to stand still. Admire the sea from above and relax while sipping an aperitif or a refreshing drink.

When the sky turns pink and orange, hop back on board the boat that will take you under the Sciara del Fuoco. Here, you can marvel from the sea at this ever-active volcano’s explosive eruptions. You will stay here for about 30 minutes to admire the incandescent lava pouring into the sea, creating a surreal and spectacular scenario. You will feel blessed to witness one of the most exciting natural phenomena in the world.

The tour of Ginostra and Stromboli by night will end by returning to Salina around 10 p.m.

Fun facts about Ginostra

• The port of Ginostra is the smallest in the world and has been nicknamed ‘il Pertuso’ (the hole) by the locals. It can, in fact, only accommodate three small boats or one slightly larger one.
• Until a few years ago, disembarking in this small village, a mule greeted and accompanied you up the steep mule track from the harbour to the centre.
• Ginostra’s beaches are hidden places where you can relax and enjoy the sea in tranquillity. Lazzaro Beach is also ideal for snorkelling enthusiasts. Here, you can admire the natural underwater arch and the rich marine vegetation.
• In the area in front of the church, the sea hides the wreck of an old warship that sank there.

• Stopovers on the islands last approximately two hours to allow autonomous island visits.
