Zingaro Nature Reserve and Scopello Tour

Embark on an unforgettable adventure to discover the Zingaro Nature Reserve and Scopello, counted among the most beautiful beaches in Italy. This excursion will take you through breathtaking landscapes full of history and wonder.

4-h Tour – Departures available: 9 am; 2 pm – Departure from the Circolo Nautico la Traina in San Vito lo Capo. First stop on the tour will be the old Tonnara del Secco in San Vito lo Capo. A guide will tell you the history of the tonnara and explain how the mattanza of bluefin tuna, an ancient fishing method adopted by local fishermen, was carried out. Visit the Venus Pond, a natural pool where the sea is always calm. If you like snorkelling, this stretch of water is perfect for taking a dip and admiring the different types of fish that have found their ideal habitat there. We will tell you the legend linked to the formation of the pond and the goddess Venus. It is said, in fact, that the goddess went here to mirror herself and make herself beautiful before joining Bacchus.

Next, we pass the white village of Calampiso. Here the little houses are nestled in the mountain, overlooking the sea. Moving on, make your way to the Zingaro Reserve. We will tell you several fun facts about the origins of the reserve, describe its flora and fauna, as well as the different paths that allow you to visit it and admire its majesty. We will visit all 7 creeks in the Reserve and, at the second one, we will make a stop for about 40 minutes to allow you to take a dip and enjoy a nice swim.

The boat tour to the Zingaro Nature Reserve and Scopello will continue with a visit to the remaining creeks until reaching Scopello. The Faraglioni and its famous tonnara provide the backdrop to one of Sicily’s most beautiful and evocative landscapes. In Scopello we will make another stop of about 40 minutes for a last swim. In this wonderful spot, we will offer you an apéritif on board with ‘pane cunzato‘, a local speciality made with typical local products. You can also choose from a refreshing glass of white wine, water and soft drinks.

At the end of this exciting day full of enchanting views and special moments, you will return to San Vito Lo Capo.
