Cefalù

Cefalù is a splendid town overlooking the sea.
Developed around the Cathedral, which in 2015 was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it was built at the behest of Roger II, it retains its medieval appearance with the narrow streets of the historic center.
Rich in architectural beauties such as ancient palaces and churches, the city is surrounded by a megalithic city wall, which is still preserved in some parts today. Characteristic is the seaside village, where you can find ancient houses facing the sea and where Porta Marina is located, an arch overlooking the sea and the Medieval Wash-house. The Norman Cathedral is the symbolic monument of the city. Inside you can admire the splendid mosaics and the Christ Pantocrator.
