Tindari

Tindari, one of the last Greek colonies in Sicily, is today known for the Sanctuary of the Black Madonna, a large Basilica where the statue of the Madonna is found, entirely made in cedar wood.
Just outside the Sanctuary, there is a terrace that offers a unique view of the Marinello lakes, today a nature reserve.
In the archaeological park it is possible to see the remains of the urban structure of the Greco-Roman era, the Greco-Roman theater, the thermal baths, the gymnasium and the tarbenae and various remains of temples, such as that of Jupiter, of Neptune.
